Originally built to host the 1985 Arab Co-operation Council Summit in Muscat and visiting Heads of State, Prime Ministers and Ministers for Oman’s 15th National Day celebrations the same year, Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel is set against a dramatic mountain backdrop on 200 acres of private beach and lush green gardens close to Muscat and the commercial center and enjoys spectacular views over the Sea of Oman. 
The hotel offers meeting and banquet facilities for up to 2,000 guests, 200 acres of landscaped gardens and the longest beach in the country. The interior design of the meeting rooms is modern and extremely functional with simple colour tones and furniture consisting of a beige carpet, white walls with embossed details, light brown wood tables and medium brown leather chairs. 
Majan ballroom is the largest in the capital of the Sultanate and can host up to 2,000 people, and while it has not been entirely renovated, the ballroom has been repainted and fitted with a new pastel and royal blue carpet with gold detail giving a grand and majestic look and feel. The space also boasts a series of crystal chandeliers and a hand painted ceiling with corresponding colours to the carpet. 
Additional banquet rooms are available for smaller events and each room is decorated with beautiful, colourful carpets and furniture as well as one-of-a-kind paintings and Persian carpets that adorn the walls. The banquet area has a separate entrance on the first floor to the rest of the property so as to not overcrowd the main atrium and lobby area.
