Saudi v Emirati in @Gillette Future Champs

Mustafa Al-Bassas & Omar Abdul Rahman Endorse Their Country’s Football Talent

The Gillette Future Champs Academy is calling upon superstars of the future from across Saudi Arabia and United Arabia Emirates to register their interest and compete in a Gulf-wide football academy.  Following the success of last year’s Saudi-only event the academy returns for its second consecutive year bigger and better.  Championed by topflight professional footballers Mustafa Al-Bassas and Omar Abdul Rahman, the new format will put national pride at the heart of the action, with training sessions for the best Saudi and Emirati teams and the opportunity to represent the Kingdom in the finals play-off against the United Arab Emirates teams in Dubai.

The Gillette Future Champs Academy will bring together youth’s desire to look and perform like a champion.  Gillette aims to provide young Saudi and Emirati talent a unique opportunity to enhance their football ability whilst motivating and educating them on grooming skills that allow them to look like a champ whilst playing like a champ in the 5-a-side team event.

The winning team will also experience a two week all inclusive training camp at the Fundación Real Madrid, part of the Real Madrid Football club, to be trained at a summer experience soccer camp under the guidance of one of the best football coaches in the world.

Saudi’s and Emiratis are urged to get behind their country and share their national pride throughout the academy duration, either by playing in the matches or supporting friends who participate.  The academy is endorsed by Saudi Arabia’s talented striker Mustafa Al-Bassas, and the UAE’s skillful playmaker Omar Abdul Rahman.

These partnerships underline a shared vision and passion with regards to sports and youth especially in the Gulf’s largest nation, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Commenting on his experience developing as a professional footballer, Mustafa Al-Bassas said:

“If lucky you are born blessed with football talent, but these skills need to be developed and enhanced to deliver to your full potential.  The training I have received since my young playing days has been invaluable in elevating me to the high standards I set myself.

“As a professional football player I’ve learned that being a champion is not only how you perform on the pitch, it’s also how you look and behave off it.  The Gillette Future Champs academy is an excellent opportunity to access professionals who can help youth develop in all areas to become a champion.”

Omar Abdul Rahman said:

“There is a lot of talented youth playing football every day in our two countries.  We see them in the parks and on the streets.  Football is in our blood. Gillette’s Future Champ Academy is an excellent initiative to help capture and develop this talent.  I would ask Saudis and Emiratis to take part and bring the best our two countries have together.”

The Gillette Future Champs academy is the most exciting youth football competition the Gulf   has witnessed to date.  In Saudi Arabia Gillette is recruiting 256 teams of 7 players, evenly split between Jeddah and Riyadh, with teams from both cities competing for the chance to represent their country via a big play-off final.  Registration is now open.  For more details visit Gillette Arabia Facebook Page www.facebook.com/GilletteArabia to apply.
