THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP COMES TO DUBAI @MeydanEvents @qube_sportsbar

The excitement of the Open Championship is coming to the UAE on July 20th thanks to Meydan golf course.
The third of golf's four major championships takes place from 14th -21st July and The Track is organising a special tournament that will bring all the drama from Muirfield, Scotland  to Meydan, Dubai.
Every player in Dubai will be randomly 'paired' with a professional in the Open. The scores from the individual stableford competition at The Track will be added to the pro's results after they have been converted to stableford points.
The three 'teams' with the highest scores will win prizes donated by Troon, Meydan and TaylorMade. Prizes will also be awarded for the longest drive and nearest the pin.
The shotgun start begins at 5pm after which, thanks time difference between the UAE and the UK, players will be able to catch the gripping climax of the penultimate round of the Open on the huge HD screens at Meydan's clubhouse sports bar, QUBE.
"This is a great way to get us keen golfers closer to the action in the Open," said Jon Day, a Dubai-based golfer originally from Newcastle, England. "I was hoping to get back to the UK this week to watch the Open live, but that hasn't been possible, so this is a good substitute.
"I generally play golf for fun and this will definitely be a fun event. I've played in a few other events
like this at The Track and they are always a good laugh.
"I'm not the best golfer to be honest, but the format at least gives me a chance, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'll just have to hope that whoever I'm paired with can do the business at Muirfield."
Registration for the event is open now and strictly limited. Entries cost AED175 per person and includes a snack and a drink after the round has been completed.
