The smart Robot to perform in Abu Dhabi
The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Official Bank of the 2012
Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and Founding Partner of Yas Marina Circuit, is bringing the world renowned Titan the Robot
to Yas Marina Circuit to entertain race-goers during the Abu Grand Prix™ on
November 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

This year NBAD will also
bring magician James Harrington to Formula 1™ Village to augment the festive
environment of the event.
“The National Bank of Abu Dhabi, the Official Bank of
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix™ since it was first hosted in this city in 2009, is
determined to make each Formula 1™ event at Yas Marina Circuit exciting and memorable
for all race-goers. Each year the Bank develops original and exhilarating ideas
for entertainment and education,” says May Ibrahim Bumajeed, the Deputy Head of Corporate
Communication Department at NBAD.
This is the second year
in the row that NBAD brings Titan to Formula 1™. Titan, who travels to exciting
events around the world, is considered one of the world’s smartest robots. It
stands about 2.4 metres tall and weighs up to 350 kilograms.
“Titan was a huge hit in
the Yas Marina Circuit last year. This is why the National Bank of Abu Dhabi
decided to bring Titan back to Abu Dhabi for the 2012 Grand Prix™,” Ms. Bumajeed says.
Recently, NBAD has renewed its sponsorship
commitment to Yas Marina Circuit as Founding Partner of the state-of-the-art
Circuit for additional three years.
As the Official Bank of 2012
Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, NBAD is engaged in organising
the activities for F1. Every year, the NBAD Display Site, located in the F1
Village, offers a host of entertaining activities that have made it one of the
most popular spots in the arena.
“In addition to the
fun-filled and informative activities taking place at the NBAD Display site, in
the F1 Village, and lavish hospitality for the Bank’s VIP guests, Titan the
Robot will amuse and entertain people at the arena,” Ms. Bumajeed says.
Before making its first
appearance at a Grand Prix event, Titan has appeared in Hong Kong, England and
at Commonwealth Games.
In addition to offering
the entertainment and educational activities organised by NBAD, the National
Bank of Abu Dhabi is the exclusive bank to provide ATM services in the Yas
Marina Circuit. Many of the NBAD ATMs in the arena are inside kiosks that are
shaped like One NBAD Tower, the Bank’s Head Office in Abu Dhabi.
NBAD hosts hundreds of
VIP guests at the Paddock Club. The Bank also offered 80 tickets through a
contest to NBAD staff members to attend F1™.
The state-of-the-art Yas
Marina Circuit (YMC), of which NBAD is Official Founding Partner, is home to
Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix, and is rated as the best racing circuit in the
world.
“Formula 1™ is one of
the most anticipated sports events of the year and in Abu Dhabi’s calendar.
NBAD sees its role in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix beyond being the Official Bank
of the Grand Prix, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi is committed to make Abu
