City's Biggest Family Festival To Take Place Over Eid Al Adha
Zayed Sports City and Global Event Management are gearing up to host the capital's biggest family festival - KidsFest Abu Dhabi.
An extensive range of entertainment for parents and children is being planned for the inaugural event, which will be held at the International Tennis Centre village at Zayed Sports City from 15th to 19th October.
The five-day festival will have interactive games, stalls and carnival rides to keep the kids entertained, while face-painting and arts-and-crafts will bring out their creative side.
Jugglers and street performers will add a real wow factor as the little ones browse handmade gifts, toys and clothing in the bazaar. Visitors will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the world's cutest animals in the specially designated animal area.
Food and drink outlets such as Figaro’s Pizza and Saj2Go will keep families stocked up with energy so they can enjoy the broad range of activities on offer.
Fitness will also play a key role in the KidsFest Abu Dhabi message as Zayed Sports City's professional coaches help to promote a healthy lifestyle and organise clinics to improve children's football, rugby and tennis skills.
A number of competitions will also take place, including modelling, talent and even one for pets.
This unique community event has been organised during the same week as Eid Al Adha, providing parents with a fun destination to take their children to meet friends, relatives and classmates during the holiday.
James Magee, Owner of Global Event Management, said: “Over 10,000 people attended the Dubai KidsFest earlier this year, showing us that there is high demand for quality events such as this one.
"Family-friendly entertainment is being actively sought by so many around the region and this Eid we will keep the local community and visitors to the city busy with KidsFest. In fact, we’ve extended to five days because there is so much to do.
"We look forward to welcoming residents and local business partners over the long weekend."
Speaking further about event, Zayed Sports City General Manager, Barry Bremner, added:
"We are excited to bring another professionally managed event to Abu Dhabi for the community to enjoy.
“We’ve got something for everyone, from our inflatable zone filled with slides, jump houses and obstacle courses to face painting, a massive area with carnival rides and games plus an entertainment stage for a range of talent shows.
" There will be much to do during the weekend and I’m sure that families will love it."
KidsFest Abu Dhabi opens at 3pm until 11pm from the 15th to the 19th October 2013. Admission is free, but some activities will require vouchers which can be purchased at the venue on the day.
