In collaboration with Chevrolet, Bridgestone and Total and with the sponsorship of MBC Action

As part of the newly announced Dubai Motor Festival to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Red Bull Car Park Drift Regional Finals will take place for the first time ever in Dubai.
Set to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday, 8thNovember, the penultimate day of the Dubai International Motor Show 2013, the event will see 17 contestants from across the region compete to be crowned the “King of Drift” in this high octane spectacle, after having qualified from their respective country qualifiers.
Spectators will be kept on the edge of their seats as they watch the Middle East’s top drifters put pedal to metal to showcase high-speed and powerful gear-shifting, steering, braking and power sliding techniques.
Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre said:  “We are delighted to be hosting the Red Bull Middle East Car Park Drift Regional Finals as part of the Dubai Motor Festival, and during this year’s edition of the Dubai International Motor Show.  This is an event that adds pace, adrenalin and global reach for Dubai as the regional leader of motoring.”
The Red Bull Cark Park Drift Regional Finals join two other events organised as part of the inaugural Dubai Motor Festival – the Dubai International Motor Show, the most influential motoring event in the Middle East, and the Dubai Car Parade, a convoy through the streets of Dubai of super, luxury and classic cars to be led by the Dubai Police fleet of high performance cars.
''The Dubai International Motor Show has developed into a global milestone in the automotive industry, and we are thrilled to contribute to this great manifestation by bringing the Red Bull Car Park Drift Regional Finals to Dubai for the first time ever'', said Alberto Chahoud, Area Communication Manager for Red Bull.
''With the best drifting contestants from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Bulgaria, battling it out for the coveted title of "King of Drift", we promise spectators a world class event that will exceed their expectations”, added Chahoud.
The regional finals, in collaboration with Chevrolet, Bridgestone and Total and with the sponsorship of MBC Action, are set to be the most impressive drifting show the region has seen, with drifting heroes performing unbelievable tricks. The crowned winner will, of course, have to fully meet the multifaceted judging criteria: while 70 per cent of the verdict will stem from the actual art of drift, 10 per cent will be based on the engine’s roar and tires’ smoke, another 10 per cent on the crowd’s reaction, and lastly, the appearance of the car. Contestants will have to truly push their engines to the limit and exhibit their utmost ability to manoeuvre their vehicles on a curved track, showing courage and a tremendous level of expertise.
The Red Bull Middle East Car Park Drift Championship finals will be held on 8 November 2013 at Dubai World Trade Centre, from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Ticket prices are AED 55 for standing tickets and 200 for seated grandstand tickets. For more information, visit www.redbullmea.com/cpd.
