Historical Gun Trophy 42 years old!
Richard Whiteside with a superb 69 won the 42 year old Gun Trophy sponsored for the third year running by Scott Safety. The trophy was first presented by the Abu Dhabi Armed forces in 1971. The event was close run as the event had to be decided by a count back. Richard’s better back 9 of 35 beat Walter Tiamfook’s 36. Third place went to Harvey Jefferson 71 also on count back from Ramesh Emmanuel.
In the Ladies Division Lady Captain continued her ‘purple patch’ by wining with a 77 on count back from Angela Tiamfook. Subsidiary prizes: Vinod Arya Nearest the Pin, Nathan Brown and Lady Captain Kate Davies Longest drives, 2’s club winners were Harvey Jefferson, Ramesh Emmanuel and Rob Brown.
Captains Rupert Evans and Kate Davies announced and presented the prizes on behalf of Scott Safety. In closing Captain Rupert Evans thanked Scott Safety, for their continued support of the AGGC and the Gun Trophy.
