Global Village, Dubai’s leading family entertainment and cultural attraction, is
set to captivate crowds from across the UAE and the GCC with a fabulous range
of celebrations and events that have been especially themed for Dubai’s Eid Al
Adha celebrations.
To enable
the biggest number of people to experience the excitement it is extending its
opening hours du ring the Eid Festival period of 10th of October till
the 19th October until 2am,
and with a special 3am closing time on the 15th and 16th
October, and expecting to entertain record crowds this year.
Fantasy
Island, one of the many new attractions at this season’s Global Village, is set
to attract huge crowds during the Eid festival period as it is the first of its
kind in the Middle East. With more than 50 rides to choose from children and
adults will have a wealth of new and innovative rides and experiences to enjoy for
hours at a time.
Thrill
seekers can ride rollercoasters, be terrified by a ghost ride, and then cool
off on the log ride. The classic funfair Dodgems are making a welcome return,
along with the highly enjoyable bungee and trampoline stands.
This season
Global Village has brought more of the world to Dubai to partake in Eid
celebrations. Amongst the 65 countries being represented this year, are the new
inclusions of Germany, Italy, and France. Countries returning to this global
extravaganza will include Qatar, UAE, Tunisia, Lebanon, UK, Thailand, Syria,
and many, many more.
Executive
Director of Operations, Ahmad Hussein, commented on the focus to bring top end
family entertainment to Global Village for Eid Al Adha. “Dubai is a tourism hub
and being based in Dubai means we have high expectations to meet in terms of
having something for everyone, no matter their age or country of origin.
“Apart from
the entertainment, we have over 65 countries being represented under 30
pavilions. We’ve gone further than any other year to bring a truly global
experience to people visiting Global Village, and Dubai, this year. We’ve
really made Global Village the place to be for Eid Al Adha, with Eid themed
décor and special themed gates and entrances to really put everybody into a
festive mood.
Bringing to
Dubai awe inspiring acts of magic, comedy, and musical talent, Global Village
is dedicated to making this Eid a memorable kick off to their season. With acts
from all over the world, and a regional first in the Fantasy Island Funfair,
the scene is set for families to enjoy a joyous Eid Al Adha experience.
The
pyrotechnic visuals of The Lords of Lightning are ready to cause a truly
electric atmosphere by sending four million volts of raw electricity between
each other and into the night sky. The Lords are fully charged to astound
audiences three times a day in their suits of metal, and visitors won’t want to
miss this electrifying event.
The
daredevil cum comedian, Ernest the Magnifico; European magic marvels “Quick
Change”; the comedic stylings of Mr. Vita, and circus performers will keep
children entertained throughout Eid, with acts, as they perform two to three
times a day, every day.
Eid
exclusive events for children will be at Global Village, from the 10th
until the 22nd, in the form of ‘Orbis’ and ‘Level Up’. ‘Orbis’ is a
world renowned touring magic show that transports its audience around the
world; celebrating the music and cultures, far and wide. From China to Russia,
and India to South America, you’re little ones will be left in awe.
‘Level Up’,
is a world of video games that quickly come to life to perform German wheels,
dance performances, power skipping, roller skating stunts, and much more.
All of that
entertainment is sure to work up an appetite, and Global Village is providing a
plethora of delectable treats and savory snacks from the vast number of kiosks
that will be serving up the favourite foods from the GCC and the rest of world,
with over 25 internationally recognized restaurants set up around the site to
satisfy your whole families need to feed.
Global
Village is one of Dubai’s biggest brands and tourism destinations, with a team
of over 10,000 people ensuring the delivery of a fantastic experience for
visitors over its 5 month season. It welcomes nearly five million visitors a
year and is regarded as one of the region’s most popular homegrown tourism and
cultural leisure brands.
Located on
the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed highway for ease of access, the Global Village
has parking space for 17,000 cars.
