Resort/Pre
Spring 2013
Style
that speaks to how you feel and where you’re going. Day–into–evening items that
dress up—a little or a lot. The shape is defined and framed, a sexy mix of
sheer, opaque and shine. Colors are pure new york glam: black, latte and white,
metallic gold, jazzberry, azurite, scarlett and hot pink.
It
starts with the dress—simple, tailored and embellished. Short sleeved and
sleeveless chemises with geometric cutouts at the neck. Tweeds feminized with
illusion tops and sleeves. Satin charmeuse shifts with trompe l’oeil jet and
gold jeweled necklines. Silk prints in abstract floral tapestries, animalia.
Foil print lace dresses that catch the light. Little black party dresses—
corseted, beaded and studded, glazed or polka dot laced, to the all–out fantasy
of layered sequins, feathers and ruffles.
Tailoring
is streamlined, molded and framed with black: micro or macro hounds tooth
sculpts clean and modern. Winter white and silver tweeds freshen the palette.
Tux–inspired separates come sexy sharp and satin–edged, in sleek jackets,
cummerbund shorts and double–pleat tapered pants. And when the mood strikes for
serious color, add in lipstick and hot pink tailored separates.
Sometimes
you need just a piece to glam it up: a jeweled tee. A reversible satin baseball
bomber. A reflective sequin or rectangle–pailette skirt. A faux fur fitted
capelet to throw over anything. Finish it all with a satin/wool/shearling
parka, or the splurge of a color blocked shearling coat, with an unexpected
leather belt.
Pre–spring
lightens the mood with airy pastels grounded by black— lemon chiffon, ballet,
lavender air, moonstone blue and orange pastel. Geometric prints and pleated
chiffon in black–framed dresses, floaty sheer silk shirts and sequined tees.
Slim leather skirts or garment–dyed skinny jeans. And the perfect spring coats
rain or shine— the wire taffeta jacket or the cotton trench.
Chic,
colorful, fun. Sophisticated with just a bit of an edge. These are pieces to
lift your spirits and your wardrobe.
