Magical moments this holiday season at Mall of the Emirates


The city’s favourite holiday destination with non-stop festivities
Mall of the Emirates is the ultimate holiday destination this festive season, with a non-stop agenda of activities and events. Featuring some traditional favourites including the must-see festive tree display and some new surprises, there is no shortage of things to see, taste and do this month that will get visitors, both young and old – into the holiday spirit.
“This year, Mall of the Emirates is giving the gift of holiday cheer by offering a variety of ways in which family and friends partake in our festive activities and create some magical memories,” said Anna Mansour, Senior Manager for Mall of the Emirates. “There’s something for everyone this season at Mall of the Emirates, and we hope to celebrate the winter spirit through fun events at Ski Dubai and throughout the mall.”    
Standing proudly in the Central Galleria is Mall of the Emirates’ iconic festive tree and holiday display, a yearly tradition that is visited by tens of thousands every year. Featuring animated characters and beautifully decorated ornaments, there is a photo opportunity at every angle, creating a memorable holiday moment.  
On December 14th, gift-givers and gourmet lovers can indulge in 570m of Stollen, a traditional German fruitcake at the 7th Annual Charity Cake Sale, a charity event for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs. Hosted by the Kempinski Mall of the Emirates in partnership with Mall of the Emirates, the event starts at 10:00am until the last slice of Stollen is sold with the day highlighted by fun kid’s activities and a special visit by Santa Claus.
For an authentic winter experience, Ski Dubai will transform into a snow-capped winter wonderland, complete with festive decor and a variety of activities on offer.  Kids can share their wish list with Santa in his grotto from December 14th-25th from 5:00pm-10:00pm on weekdays and 10:00am-10:00pm on weekends. In addition, Ski Dubai will be helping kids count down the ‘12 Days of Christmas’ starting December 12th, with a different  festive themed activity every day including snowman building, wreath throwing and treasure hunts.
Other festive events include Mall of the Emirates include DUCTAC’s holiday line-up featuring the family musical ‘Santa Claus and the Christmas Adventure’ from December 6th-9th, and The Sharmila Dance Gala, featuring a dynamic mix of dance including ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, tango and salsa from December 14-15th.  

Gift-givers and fans of Tiffany & Co. can visit its Holiday Boutique from December 12th until January 12th, 2013. A first-time event for the region, the glamorous temporary concept store will be built in Central Galleria and feature an extensive collection of Tiffany holiday treasures. Whether shopping or browsing, this store will be a dazzling attraction for all visitors to experience.
Cinema goers will find a complete line-up of movies at VOX Cinemas including the release of the blockbusters: Killing them Softly, The Hobbit, Jack Reacher and Life of Pi. Fans of independent or foreign films can attend the Dubai International Film Festival from December 9-16th, where VOX Cinemas at Mall of the Emirates will be showing a selection of international films.
